GreenLight Brand-Protect can register your brand as a trade mark so you can stop your competitors in their tracks.
Once you have used GreenLight Brand-Check to make sure your trade mark is free for registration, we will register your trade mark for you. Once again, you do not need to worry about finding out what classes you need coverage in – we will do all this for you and our all-inclusive fixed costs covers up to three classes of goods/services. If we feel you may need coverage in more classes, we will contact you directly to discuss your options with you.
Why should I register my trade mark? By registering your mark, it is significantly easier to prevent other businesses from using a similar mark in the same or a similar area of business.
How long does the process take? From start to finish, the whole process typically takes around six months.
Why does it take so long? We normally expect to hear that your trade mark has been accepted by the UK Trade Mark Examiner around two months from filing. Your trade mark will then be published online for a period of three months to allow any third party (who has valid grounds) to oppose your application – this is currently a legal requirement and the three month period cannot be avoided. If no one opposes your application it will automatically proceed to registration and we would forward the official Certificate of Registration to immediately on receipt. This is why the whole process typically takes around six months.
